It is truly a wonderful thing to feel a connection to another human the first time you meet them. The feeling doesn't have to be monumental or 'remember forever.' It can simply stand out from other moments of the day, otherwise uneventful. I am currently a server at a local restaurant and tonight we had the pleasure of taking care of some really wonderful people. Work has been slow lately but this allows the time to really get to know the people you are taking care of. This party of 2 captured my full attention tonight and it all stemmed from one thing: photography. He told me he has been taking pictures for decades; I was hooked on every word. He began sharing one piece of photography advice each time I returned to the table. We bonded (or at least I did with him) throughout their entire meal. We agreed that Sony was a great brand to focus on when thinking about equipment. He shared his photos with me and I shared mine in return. His photography absolutely blew me away, y'all. All of his photographs were taken in wonderfully exotic corners of the world and it was far beyond inspiring, especially so for an aspiring world traveler. On top of this, they were both genuinely kind and considerate people. They took the time to get my name, introduce themselves and gave me wise advice. He invited me to share my future photographs with him if ever in need of any advice and even extended the invitation of 'if you are ever in my area let me know!' Nowadays its rare for people to be so kind in any general situation. I definitely don't take these moments for granted. Cheers to a breath of fresh air in the form of two seriously wonderful guests. The photo attached is what he chose as his favorite as soon as he saw it, exclaiming his surprise to learn it was taken right here in Georgia!
